Supporting Youth Through Social-Emotional Learning and Therapeutic Care

At The Guiding Light Wellness Center, we believe that emotional well-being is just as essential as academic success. That’s why Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) is a foundational part of the support we provide to youth. SEL activities help children and adolescents recognize and manage their emotions, build healthy relationships, develop resilience, and make responsible decisions—critical life skills for navigating school, home, community, and beyond.

To meet the needs of youth in our communities, we offer a therapeutic program available after school and during the summer, specifically designed for children and adolescents experiencing behavioral health challenges. This program utilizes person-centered treatment planning and is supported by tools such as the CALOCUS assessment to determine the appropriate level of care. Additional screeners are used to monitor each child's progress and ensure care remains tailored to their evolving needs.

Our approach emphasizes early intervention, individualized care, and therapeutic engagement. By combining evidence-based behavioral support with age-appropriate, engaging activities, we empower children to grow socially and emotionally in a safe, nurturing environment.

At The Guiding Light Wellness Center, our goal is to help every child feel seen, supported, and equipped to thrive.
