Our therapeutic groups are grounded in a holistic approach, supporting youth and adolescents in exploring not only their symptoms but also the underlying causes of emotional and behavioral challenges. We foster resilience, self-awareness, and lasting emotional well-being in a safe, supportive environment..
Both models of our therapeutic groups are designed to deliver comprehensive, wraparound support; including individual counseling, family therapy, and proactive crisis prevention, ensuring each child and family receives consistent, compassionate care across all environments.
After-School Program Schedule

4:30 – 5:00 PM Arrival & Snack/ Mindfulness
Youth check-in, enjoy a healthy snack, and settle in
Calm transition with activities like breathing exercises or check-in circles
5:00 – 5:45 PM Group Therapy
CBT/DBT-based Therapeutic groups focused on coping skills, emotional regulation, etc.
5:45 – 6:15 PM Life Skills / Social Skills Training
Hands-on activities that teach responsibility, communication, and problem-solving
6:15 – 7:15 PM Homework/Individual Therapy
Focused time for homework, tutoring, or skill-building
Scheduled one-on-one therapy sessions
7:15 – 7:30 PM Reflection & Dinner/Dismissal
Group check-out, reflection, goal setting, and safe departure

The Guiding Light Wellness Center will observe most major holidays; however, our programming schedule may not align with scheduled school breaks. Parents and guardians will be notified in advance of any closures, modified hours, or special programming that may occur on no-program days (e.g. inclement weather, professional in-service, early release, etc.).
